Perennial Liatris are an attractive violet in colour & are ideal for cottage gardens borders & as cut flowers. Provided the soil is not waterlogged or frozen you can plant straight into the garden. Bareroot plants should usually be planted about an inch below the surface. Gently water them in & then water as necessary until the next good rain or during dry periods. Removing faded flowers will generally encourage a second flush of colour in many plants. Each autumn cut plants back to ground level after flowering.

They are perfect for your borders or in pots on the patio as well as making stunning cut flowers. These are guaranteed to provide you with year after year of exceptional beauty.
Plant the bulbs so that the base of the plant will be in the shade & the main growth in the sun. Bulbs should be planted Approx. 15cm (6) deep & when planting push the bulb in well to avoid any air pockets below the bulb which can cause rotting. Water in well & continue to water but only lightly as the soil should never become waterlogged. Keep the ground around the bulbs weed-free & provide a mulch of bark or fresh compost to help moisture retention. Provide support for taller lilies as required. When in growth feed every 3-4 weeks with a high-potash fertiliser.
