An easy alternative to programmable timers, this super simple device has two setting, summer & winter which is via a simple slide switch. In winter mode for four hours & summer for two hours, once dark the timer itself will choose one of three settings, it will either turn on one to three times randomly during the night for an hour, or turn on every hour during the night for around thirty minutes, or turn on every hour during the night for fifteen minutes. So if someone is watching your house, the pattern isn't the same all the time, & doesn't happen all night...as it usually wouldn't when you're at home! So for example if you go away in summer, when it doesn't start getting dark till about 8pm, the plug will come on at 8pm for two hours, so would be active until 10pm...bedtime! & with the winter setting this cycle will last for four hours.
