15 Minute Tiger Moth Flying Lesson

Soar through the sky with this exhilarating Tiger Moth Flying Lesson! Marvel at the glorious English countryside that lies beneath you & feel the wind rushing through your hair as your 1930s biplane cruises at a speed of around 80 knots (just over 80mph). You’ll have the chance to take the controls of the plane & you’ll be kitted out with authentic goggles & a flying jacket, adding a lovely vintage twist to this fabulous aviation experience. Typical Programme You’ll be flying in an original Tiger Moth biplane with an instructor, but before your adventure begins you’ll have a pre-flight briefing to ensure that you’re familiar with the controls of this historic aircraft. Seated in the back seat, with your instructor in front, the plane will take to the skies for 15 minutes, cruising at a speed of around 80 knots (just over 80 miles per hour). The cockpit of the Tiger Moth is open so you’ll feel the wind in your hair & the air rushing past you! & from the sky, you’ll have a brilliant view of the hedgerows, trees, people, houses & cars on the ground. And if you choose to fly from Duxford, you will get free entry into IWM Duxford (worth £16) whilst your guests get entry at half price. Duration & Group Size Your flight will last around 15 minutes but you'll be at the activity centre for around 1 hour. It's just you & the instructor but you're welcome to bring family & friends along to watch you take to the sky. Fitness Requirements & Previous Experience The maximum weight to take part in this experience is 16 stone (101kg) & the maximum height is 1.93m (6ft 4). You must be fit without any heart problems & agile, as embarking & disembarking is difficult & requires flexibility. The Tiger Moth Flying Lesson may not be suitable for pregnant women. No previous experience or qualifications are required to take part in this activity. Minimum Age To participate in this activity you must be at least 18 years old. Locations & Availability Cheltenham, Gloucester; Duxford, Cambridge; Redhill Aerodrome, Redhill, Surrey The Tiger Moth Flying Lesson runs on selected days, all year round but mainly from May to September.
