To prevent the corrosion process, we thoroughly recommend applying the POR-15 Top Coat over POR-15 Rust Preventive Under exposure to sunlight & weather POR-15 Top Coat Safety Green has exceptional long term gloss & colour retention. POR 15 Top Coat can be applied directly to metal substrates, with no need for a primer or undercoat, & is formulated to form a robust barrier that sheds moisture to provide long lasting protection. POR-15 Top Coat has excellent adhesion & when used over POR15 Rust Preventive Paint the products create a system works to provide a permanent barrier to corrosion. Non porous & will not crack, chip, or peel Amazing scratch & abrasion resistance Not sensitive to UV light Can be applied over POR-15 or other paints. APPLYING OVER OTHER PRIMERS Repeat instructions above, then sand surface lightly with 240 grit sandpaper & wipe clean with dry tack cloth & paint. TO PAINT OVER A CURED POR-15 SURFACE Clean with Cleaner Degreaser as above, then sand with 300 grit sandpaper & apply one light to medium coat of POR-15 Self-Etching Primer. Allow to cure for 30 Minutes at 68ºF (20ºC), or longer in cooler temperatures. Apply POR15 Top Coat as final finish. Depending on temperatures & humidity recoat at 3-12 hour intervals. Spray or Brush Application: POR-15 Topcoat will need thinning using POR15 Solvent for all spray & brush applications between 10-20%. Use 25-35 lbs. (172-240 Kpa) pressure for normal semi-gloss.
