Once seen, never forgotten: an indefinable confusion of superb musicianship and side-splitting comic genius, the New Rope String Band are truly unique entertainers. Elements of circus, clowning, vaudeville, slapstick and sheer inspired silliness are spliced with beautiful acoustic music from various world traditions, in precision-honed yet uproarious performances that have delighted audiences from Borneo's Sarawak rainforest to the Shetland Folk Festival. Equally at home in tiny village halls or on major festival stages, these three maniac minstrels mix up long-time favourite routines with ever-evolving new material. From musical gyrations to deconstructed nursery rhymes, Python-esque absurdism to pyrotechnics, dream sequences and live, interactive film, expect the hilariously unexpected.
In April 2012, Bonnie released her first new album in seven years ‘Slipstream’ to widespread acclaim. Now, in summer 2013, she will bring her daring bluesy sound, steeped with inimitable slide guitar and soulful vocals, to the UK for much anticipated live shows.
After an emotional period, with such triumphs as her 2005 release and tour for ‘Souls Alike, ’ and 2009 national tour with fellow blues legend Taj Mahal alongside the tragedy of losing her parents, her brother, and her best friend, Raitt decided to step back. “I took a hiatus from touring and recording to get back in touch with the other part of my life, ” Raitt says of her decision to recharge her spirit and regain her personal balance before returning to action.
There’s no doubt that Raitt is re-energized. 'Slipstream' marked her biggest chart debut in the United States in two decades and is one of the top 5-selling independent albums of the year. She is also wrapping up an 80-date North American tour this month, which included more than 40 sold out shows and rave reviews:
The title ‘Slipstream’ is very significant for Raitt, who notes: "I'm so inspired and so proud to continue these traditions, whether it's reggae or soul or blues. I'm in the slipstream of those who came before me, and I'm leaving one for those behind me."
Bonnie Raitt is an institution in American music – a nine-time GRAMMY-winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee with tens of millions of albums sold worldwide, she has undeniably changed the landscape of soul, rock, and blues. She is also a passionate activist and supporter of causes ranging from the anti-nuclear movement to youth music programs.
Raitt's last tour of the UK was well received in 2006 and she looks forward to her return in June 2013.

Drunk folk singer, barefoot troubadour and cult legend Beans on Toast has been around the block more times than he cares to remember.
With 5 albums in his back catalogue, Beans on Toast provokes thought on subjects from Prince Harry to Popcorn, from Full Moons to Fracking, from Wetherspoons to Riots, from Love songs to Drug songs and from current events to getting off your head. Simple songs, with no-holds-barred honest lyrics and quick wit.
The Beans on Toast live show is an odd and unpredictable experience. A singer, storyteller and guitar player, his self-deprecating quality is not something you often see on stage, but it breaks down the barrier between musician and audience, creating a sense of equality.
This year is set to be the biggest yet for Beans on Toast as he prepares to perform to over 100, 000, opening Frank Turner's UK stadium tour in February 2014 alongside Flogging Molly. With new digital single 'Keep You' added to the XFM Playlist and a 'Best of Toast Pressed on Vinyl' release in the works for Independent Record Store Day, anything is possible.

Finbarr Clancy, Brian Dunphy, Martin Furey and Darren Holden, renowned vocalists and musicians, have come together to create the most exciting Irish ballad group to emerge since The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem electrified the worldwide folk revival of the 1960s.
For centuries, Ireland was ruled by High Kings. As their reign came to an end, their deeds and stories merged into the world of legend and myth and the High Kings of Ireland were no more except in story, music and song. Until now.
Albert Lee's impeccable country music and rock pedigree stretches back over more than 40 years. He has performed with many of the greats in country and rock, including Joe Cocker, Emmylou Harris, Eric Clapton and the Everly Brothers. As well as being a top guitarist, he is also a red hot piano player and a pretty good singer too. His new band (well, they've been together for 15 years!) comprises some of the best known rock 'n' roll and country players in Britain. They won a Grammy Award in 2002.
The band grew out of the earlier Fiddler's Dram and their side project Oyster Ceilidh Band. The name Oyster comes from the group's early association with the coastal town of Whitstable in East Kent, known for the quality of its oysters.
Their first album, released under the Oyster Ceilidh Band name, was Jack's Alive (1978) on the Dingles record label. Subsequent albums, as Oyster Band (sometimes The Oyster Band) were released on the band's own Pukka Music label: English Rock 'n' Roll: The Early Years 1800–1850 and Lie Back and Think of England, followed by Liberty Hall and 20 Golden Tie-Slackeners.
