If you’re one of those riders who are looking for a performance-oriented freeride board, but you want a board that’s not going to make you work hard to get that performance, then the Nitro Mountain could be your perfect choice. Built around a fully directional tapered shape & featuring a traditional camber with early rise in both the nose & tail, the Mountain delivers the perfect balance of on-piste control & response with effortless lift & float in the pow. So, no matter if you’re charging around the piste or exploring the backcountry, you know that it’s going to be able to tackle absolutely everything you can throw at it. However, what separates the Mountain from most boards in this category is that Nitro has rewound the stiffness back a notch. Coming in at a 7/10, you’d still class it as a performance board, but by just nipping back that aggression a tad, it’s a performance board that’s a joy to ride 100% of the time, not just on those days where you want to gun it. So, what does that mean in real terms? It means that if you’re after a board that’s going to charge on the days where you want to push yourself to the max but on those days where you want to take a cruise with the family, it’s going to feel relaxed & a bit more rider-friendly, in short, it’s best to describe it as a freeride board that you’re just going to want to ride all day & every day. Rider Profile: All-Terrain freeriders Riders looking for a performance freeride board that delivers stunning performance over the whole mountain that is still friendly enough to use as your everyday board. Shape Overview: Tapered Directional The Mountain utilises a fully directional tapered freeride shape. This innovative snowboard profile is designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail. This shape gives you plenty of float whilst powering up the back of the board, giving you a more dynamic feel on edge. The 8mm tapered shape means that the nose is wider than the tail, promoting smooth turn entry & exit, stability at speed, & enhanced deep snow flotation. However, the blunt-tipped early rise nose design also lowers the swing weight at the extremities of the board, giving the Mountain a more balanced feel for a more predictable & stable carve. The slight cutback in the tail allows the back of the board to sink a bit more easily, making for effortless powder performance. Profile: Cam Out Camber Cam-Out Camber is a traditional camber with early & smooth transitions into tip andtail. Those early rise tips allow snow to flow under the nose, reduce drag, & ensure the board comes onto the plane quickly & easily. The regular camber allows the rider to power up the sidecut across its entire length, creating a stable & reassuring ride on edge. Progressive Sidecut A larger radius in the front blended into a tighter one towards the tail: The progressive sidecut makes accelerating out of turns a breeze while maintaining a catch-free nose area. Construction Heading up the Mountain’s high-quality construction is the Powercore II. This is a tip-to-tail poplar wood core with additional beech wood stringers. This combination delivers the perfect balance ofstrength, smooth response & insane snap. Now to give the Mountain its more rider-friendly feel, the layers are formed from a torsionally softer bi-ax glass. This works in harmony with the lively core to give the Mountain its combination of great performance but with a more relaxed easier going feel. Base Sintered Speed Formula HD Base. Utilising a new base material compound, Nitro has achieved higher abrasion resistance, increased wax absorption, & higher snow speeds.
