Combining a flat section through the middle of the board with rocker at the tips, the Instigator delivers a playful hook free ride with enhanced lift & float in deeper snow. This combination creates a confidence-inspiring board that pushes you to try new techniques, all without having to worry about being punished for every little mistake. In terms of construction, the Instigator continues its theme of versatility & a rider-friendly feel, ensuring that if you want a board that’s going to help you develop into a better rider, then you can’t go wrong with this. Rider Profile Beginner to intermediate riders looking for a versatile & easy-going board to develop their riding skills. Shape Overview The Instigator utilises a versatile directional shape with 5mm of taper. This classic snowboard shape is designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the back while still giving you plenty of float, flow, & control to rip any terrain or condition. The tapered shape means the nose is wider than the tail, promoting smooth turn entry & exit, stability at speed, & enhanced deep snow floatation. Profile As the Instigator is all about that balance of performance, versatility & easy-going nature, Burton fit it with their Flat Top profile. This places a flat profile between the feet, meaning enhanced stability, better balance, & continuous edge control. The tip & tail kick up with an early rise outside the feet; this gives a reassuring catch-free ride combined with a looser, more forgiving feeling you’d expect from rocker. To help the Instigator to deliver an even more predictable & catch-free ride, Burton also adds their Cruise Control Tune. This catch-free edge tune combines with the rocker to help new riders progress, & good riders get even better. Construction Burton uses modern technology & traditional construction to ensure that the Instigator delivers the perfect balance of easy going & forgiving all-terrain ride with excellent performance. This state of the art wood core uses dual-density vertical laminations of alternating softwood/hardwood to reduce overall weight with no sacrifice in strength or performance. Now to dial in the perfect easy-going flex, the core is re-profiled with Squeezebox Low. This creates Stiffer zones just outside the feet, creating a more direct energy transfer to the tip & tail while enabling a softer, smoother flex between the bindings.
