...THe ALL-Te RRAIN BOARD THAT TURNS THe MOUNTAIN INTO A GIANT PLAYGROUNDThe highly acclaimed 2021 Bataleon Fun. Kink has earned itself an enviable reputation as one of the most versatile & fun to ride boards on the market. Aimed equally at beginners as it is more experienced riders, the Fun. Kink takes full advantage of its state of the art Triple Base™ & almost twin directional shape to create a board that truly does blur the lines between freestyle & freeride. This innovative profile, combined with the versatile shape creates what could almost be described as the perfect all-terrain snowboard. Combine that with a slightly softer & more playful flex & not only do you get a board that can ride everything, you also get a board that’s going to make you want to hunt out every jib & every hit that you can find. Rider Style: All-Terrain The Fun Kink is aimed at riders of all ability levels who are looking for a great fun board that will ride absolutely everything on the mountain. Shape Overview: Directional Twin The Fun. Kink utilises a state of the art blunt tip & tail directional twin chassis. This versatile shape combines the balance of a true twin with the versatility of an all-terrain board. So, when you’re hitting the park, it gives you all the control that you could ever need. However, by slightly increasing the volume in the nose, you also get a board that provides excellent float in the pow with a stable & solid ride on the piste. Profile: Twin Triple Base Key to the Fun. Kinks playful ride is the unique Twin 3BT with Side Kicks base profile. This advanced 3D base combined with an overall traditional camber delivers truly stunning performance in all types of terrain. The Twin 3BT profile divides the base at the front & back of the board into three sections. The slightly wider flat centre base aids stability in take-offs & landings while the two slightly narrower side-base sections with their mellow angled uplift to deliver that unique combination of the hook-free ride with increased edge hold & control. Side Kicks Side Kick dramatically increases the side base uplift just outside the widest part of the nose & tail. This makes turn initiation smoother, increases float in powder & improves the handling of the board in rough terrain. Construction Take a look inside the Fun. Kink, & it’s pretty evident that you’re getting a lot of snowboard for your money. Heading up this advanced construction is the featherweight Light Core. Combining an even mix of poplar & paulownia, it delivers the perfect balance of light-weight, durability & playful performance. To this, Bataleon then adds their state of the art D.S.T (Dual Super Tube) Technology. This innovative construction places two hollow carbon rods into milled out channels on the base of the core, stepping up pop as well as powering up the camber for more snap & drive. To give the Fun. Kink its trademark playful feel; the structural layers are formed from bi-ax glass. These create a torsionally softer flex which gives that more buttery & compliant ride that the Fun. Kink is famous for. Base: Super Slick X (High Molecular extruded) This high quality extruded base has the highest molecular weight of any extruded base on the market. That means it’s tougher & faster while remaining virtually maintenance-free. Float Surface: 151 = 59 154 = 61 157 = 63 159w = 67 New for this season on all Bataleon Boards is the Float-Surface rating. This measurement is calculated via a complex equation that takes into account surface area, nose & tail profile & set back. This then gives you a rating on how the board lifts & floats in powder, giving you a real comparison between the new generation of short, wide board against a traditional snowboard. Float surface starts at 50 for the lowest-rated board & goes up to 96 for the highest-rated board
