The Charisma Features a tip rocker profile, this means that the variable edge length at the shovel makes the ski much easier to turn. It has a cambered area underneath the foot & at the tail, this provides a feeling of power, drive & grip. Double Grip XTD- Ever since carving was invented, edge grip has been vital. Precise hold has become the deciding factor in skiing as speeds & carving forces have increased. In order to optimise power over the edges, V�-LKL has developed the Double Grip principle: double height, double edge grip! The doubling of the Wood Core construction with a second wood core built up over the edges allows greater power transfer & stability & increases leverage. With Double Grip XTD, the additional wood core extends along the entire length of the ski. This makes the continuous flex of the ski rounder & more harmonious. It is suited for the more performance orientated skier as the ski is at its best when going fast. Is this for me? A great ski this one, suitable for the female skier demanding that bit more from their skis. It has a solid & sturdy feel that comes with great build quality & a performance you would expect from German engineering. It will cope with variable conditions & slight off piste skiing but is primarily a piste ski.

The Volkl Essenza Chiara is squarely aimed at the majority of European women skiers; a fantastic all conditions piste ski, confidence inspiring & able to adapt to all snow conditions. At 77mm wide although a piste biased ski it offers enough width to make trips between the runs too, & that width creates a very stable ski that means that you can focus on enjoying the mountain. The Volkl Chiara for 2014 has also had significant weight reduction thanks to an updated Biologic xtra LIGHT construction & revised Marker binding system. They have removed a lot of weight from these skis this year too, which you do notice when you pick them up, & makes the ski feel very nimble underfoot, even with it being wider than a classic piste ski. A lovely ski! IS IT FOR ME? The ideal ski for many of our customers that we see in store, who may be skiing 1 or 2 weeks per year, are at a good intermediate level & either want a ski that they can just step into & ski like a comfortable pair of slippers, or a ski that will not dent your confidence & allow you to fine tune your carving skills.

It’s built mostly for the piste but will handle the occasional side excursion with fair results.

Features: Full Camber: The target group for this profile is the athletic, classic on-piste skiers & this design means that the edge length does not vary.  This constant edge length provides maximum control, precision & ride quietness in both gliding & slight edging situations. DUAL WOOD CORE:   The Dual Wood Core construction consists of the wooden core extending across the width of the ski body & is positioned within the central binding area. The Dual Wood Core delivers extra power under foot & allows easier & lighter flexing at the tip & tail for a smooth, somewhat forgiving performance Power grip:  By means of its special 3D design, the Powergrip construction method generates more edge pressure, particularly in the binding area. The rails are interrupted in this area of the ski in order to house the 3 Motion binding designed especially for Powergrip construction. The fact that the structure is divided into a front & rear area results in relatively low side walls, allowing even more direct contact between the ski boot & the edge.
