The Sucks is at the core of the Stepchild range & has won multiple awards over the years under many different guises. For 2014 we see upgraded Triax fibreglass to give this true-twin camber board added snap. Specification: Profile: Regular Camber Running length: 1190mm Waist
Width: 250mm Sidecut radius: 7.9m Setback: Centred Flex (1 soft, 10 stiff): 4 (Specification based on the 155cm board) Note: Base & topsheet graphics are size specific & base colours may vary
Features: The award winning Kicker I Core is made using sustainably sourced poplar & is milled by computer. It is soft yet snappy making it suitable for all areas of the mountain. Snag Free Base Material has been hardened during the pressing process, this makes the base more durable & easier to maintain & is applied to all Stepchild snowboards. Structurn are elongated dimples on the base of the board. This patented base structure is scientifically proven to make the base run faster in all conditions. An additional diamond shaped layer of fibreglass re-enforces the binding insert area. These Armadillo Plates help to prevent inset blowouts from high impacts & heavy landings. Future Glue is a standard on all Stepchild boards due to its unparalleled strength in bonding the base to the core. Triax Fibreglass uses three strands of interweaving fibreglass to deliver a stiffer torsional flex while also increasing the response. I’ve got a Sucks from a couple of seasons ago & it’s still my go-to board for park days. I like the precision of camber when approaching rails & setting an edge on landing. The Triax fibreglass update has increased the torsion stiffness a little, giving more power off the edges when it’s ridden a little harder. I enjoy all aspects of snowboarding & carving corduroy piste is up there with my favourite things to do. That is another thing that the Sucks definitely does NOT suck at. Is it for me? For intermediate to advanced park riders that want the benefits of camber: solid edge hold & loads of pop, & don’t want to sacrifice that for the looseness of a rocker or flat profile. Also snowboarders that enjoy riding the piste that are looking for the same characteristics.
