To talk about the B 10/30 we need to know a little about the man behind the board, Mr Amplid himself Peter Bauer. Peter started snowboarding in 1984, was sponsored by Burton two years later & was named European Champion five times, World Champion four times & vice World Champion in the combined event (halfpipe, moguls, slalom & downhill) behind a certain Craig Kelly. 16 years at Burton also gave Peter the opportunity to learn his craft. Peter was heavily involved with developing & testing some of the most revolutionary snowboards of the late 80s & 90s & learned a lot from working with the best in the industry. Peter went on to do his own thing & formed Amplid in 2005. Basically Peter Bauer knows how to make a snowboard & how to ride one better than pretty much anyone else on the planet. The B 10/30 is a board he built for himself for his needs. It’s a “no-compromise freeride board that feels right in every terrain, in all snow conditions.” Specification: Profile: S Rocker Profile Description: Camber underfoot with early rise rocker in the nose Shape: Directional Setback: 15 Flex: Medium/ Stiff Length cm Effective Edge mm Waist Width mm Recommended Rider weight 163 1190 253 Not stated Note: Die cut base colour combinations may vary & are supplied at random Profile: S Rocker by Amplid combines the stability & power of camber underfoot & through the tail with the easy floatation of early rise rocker. It’s the ideal profile for riding sketchy windblown chutes & bottomless powder in the same run.
Features: The HEXO2 core replaces specific areas of weightier wood at the tips with feather light recycled paper honeycomb, practically eliminating swing weight. Spin to win. The rest of the core is made up with Uber Light Wood varieties which are cut, treated & aligned in a way only the Amplid factory knows. Its strength to weight ratio has scientist baffled. P.L.T Gloss UV Coating is completely crack proof, tough as old boots, shinier than Monty Burns waxed scalp & eco-friendly. It provides a high gloss lacquer finish without the cracks. Tapered Fly Tips remove the necessity of bringing the wood core or a TPU spacer to the tips, reducing swing weight & increasing playfulness. Sintered GE 7.2 (7200) LS Base with Stone finish is the very same material used in record breaking race skis & snowboards. Squeezing yourself into a lycra cat suit & going gate bashing probably isnt your thing, but this almost frictionless base will guarantee that when you point straight youll be riding as fast as gravity will allow.
