This means the Twin Rocker Shape is hook-free for a forgiving ride but with loads of base & edge contact for grip & power. As a true twin this board is completely symmetrical meaning that it rides just as well regular as it does ‘switch’. Rather than using ABS sidewalls or those made from wood or P-Tex, Ride have developed their proprietary Slimewall sidewalls. These are made from the urethane, which is commonly used in skateboard wheels, & adds maximum dampening to the edge for a smooth ride & durable construction. Pop Rods 2.0 are carbon rods wrapped in urethane, & then strategically placed in the tip and/or tails of a board.  The carbon rod gives huge pop, & the urethane wrap adds some dampening for the landing. The rods are placed on both edges; from the inserts back (or forward at the tip) this gives great pop when preloading one corner of your board i.e. for big rotational aerials. Extra large edges, with 50% more of the Rockwell Ultra Hard Steel found on regular edges means that Cleave Edge provides unmatched strength & tuneability. Ride use stitched rather than woven fibreglass in their snowboards for a more consistent & therefore stronger construction. Hybrid Glass uses triaxial stitch on top with biaxial on the base for balanced torsion & flex. Fusion 4000 is a sintered base material that is made harder, more durable & faster than the competition. With the rockered profile, true-twin shape & not exactly understated graphics you’d be forgiven for thinking that the Buckwild was a going to be a noodle aimed at jib riding & buttery silliness. However the clues are in the tech, which more than justifies its price tag & gives it the qualities of a board built for riding hard. It has fairly stiff torsional flex so is stable at speed & holds an edge right through the turn.   So if your idea of fun is going further, higher & faster than everyone else on the hill then you will certainly be having more fun on the Buckwild. Is it for me? Built around a freestyle shape with performance enhancing tech the Buckwild is for intermediate to advanced park & pipe riders. It would make a great ‘resort board’ for fairly aggressive snowboarders that want a solid but fun ride for the pistes and

It lifts at the contact points with a long almost flat zone underfoot. This provides an almost ‘catch free’ ride & increases float in powder. A fantastic first board but also so much more than that, the Compact is also great for intermediate riders that will find the soft flex easy to turn & manipulate for buttering & the twin shape beneficial for switch riding.
