This ski has been redesigned, lightened & modernized to appeal to the ski mountaineer or spring ski tourer who places a premium on efficiency. We have stocked K2 since we started the business & with the range & quality of their skis it is easy to see why. Speak to any staff member & they own or would like to own at least one pair from the K2 range. This year K2 have added Ro X technology across a number of the women’s range to improve their edge hold & torsional stiffness in the tip as well as help vibration dampening. This was utilized in the men’s range last season with great response & is now spread out across more of their range. This, combined with their new Baseline 2.0 technology has changed the performance of their women specific range & they have done this by using a new comprehensive build process where a skis top shape is redesigned to complement the side profile along the entire ski. They have called this ‘ Baseline 2.0’ & K2 has managed to engineer skis for varied skier types & even different styles of skiing, while also finely tuning them for a specific snow condition. The Wayback 88 has been redesigned, lightened & modernized to appeal to the ski mountaineer or spring ski tourer who places a premium on efficiency. Slight tip & tail taper provide greater ease & versatility than its predecessor & sidewalls underfoot also improve the edge hold. These skis use the Baseline 2 Backside construction. These are built with a powder influenced design with progressively more taper as the widths increase., making the ski steer easier in soft & unpredictable snow. The profile of the tips is long & low with All-Terrain Rocker for smooth planning through softer snow & increased versatility.. The waist widths allow medium to long radius sidecuts for reduced weight & to empower confidence during medium to long turns, while the camber on these skis is medium to low for a consistent feel in a variety of snow conditions. Finally the tails offer greater versatility by allowing skier to adjust the arc mid-turn & makes the turn release easier. The tail profiles are flat & allow the skier to plunge the tails into the snow in order to build anchors. Ski
