The G_1 was Garmont’ s proving ground, our full-race Formula One machine where we could test and perfect our technologies in the most demanding situations. The G_1 is the state-of-the-art alpine racing boot that combines the highest skiing performance with a custom anatomical fit. Remarkable comfort has been achieved in its close race fit by using Garmont’s Anatomically Directed Design. The G_1’s stiff, performance shell carefully follows the anatomy of the foot as though it’s vacuum-fit or shrink-wrapped around the foot’s natural asymmetry and irregularities. These irregularities, normally punched and stretched by an expert boot fitter, have been built into the G_1 last. last. The Freeride Fit is anatomically correct, closefitting and responsive, with all-day comfort. Out of the box they have that a “custom bootfitter” fit. NEW for this season are the updated WebFrame finish, new buckles, and updated liners. The G_1 150 has innovative details that set them apart from other freeride, race, and performance alpine boots. Garmont’s patented Shock Damper shell has flex ribs in the instep that provide a subtle longitudinal flex that allow it to absorb shock and vibration, resulting in better ski flex and edge hold, with less vibration and chatter. Unique High Profile Shell acts as a double cuff that ties the lower shell and cuff together as one. This
high-profile shape improves forward response and offers unprecedented rearward support. Garmont’s superior last is heart of our boots. Garmont shells were developed around the foot, not modified to fit the foot as is the case with other alpine boots. These shells have already been to the bootfitter, their unique anatomical designs shaped to provide: More room for the first metatarsal Room for “6th toe” Room for the navicular bone Asymmetric malleoli that match the body’s natural asymmetry A deep, supportive heel cup with space for common heel spurs. High Profile Cuff Riveting maximizes the shell’s High Profile shape by securing the cuff and shell together as one solid, responsive structure. forward flex. The Contour Cuff is shaped to follow the form of the inner leg to increase contact and eliminate play between the leg and cuff. The result is the quickest response possible with the most leverage and support. The Cuff has Molded indicators for those who wish to adjust the buckle catches 15mm smaller. Buckle Savers provide solid protection for lower shell Buckles. The effective rubber Snow Dam prevents snow from entering lower shell.
