The Rodeo is an all-mountain binding that has bags of appeal for freestyle riders, mainly due to its Stealth Highback, which is stiffer on the lower half & nice & flexible at the top. This is for increased movement when in the air (think boned-out grabs) whilst retaining heel edge control when you’re on the snow. - Ride use Aluminium for a reason; the 100% aircraft grade 6061 aluminium is the perfect balance of minimal weight, quick response & unmatched durability. The chassis is made from 50% recycled aluminium & can be recycled just like a drink can when you’re done. Wedgie Is a sloped foot bed that slopes down towards the middle of the board & up towards the nose & tail. It helps keep your legs aligned when standing in a snowboarding stance taking the strain off your knees. It also provides a platform to help boost ollie power, using skateboard design as an influence. EVA Basepad are vibration dampening & shock absorbing for the best control & enhanced comfort. Straps: Flipside Mount Straps are featured on all of the Infinity chassis bindings, the mount straps provide an easier way to get in your binding as it flips open to hold the ankle strap out of the way. Cleaver. New Freestyle Asym Ankle Strap is asymmetrical in design for added lateral support & comfort. 3D Thin Grip™ Toe Strap for better fit & better grip, this new 3D Thin Grip™ offers a new flip-lever tool-less adjust. Astro Glyde LT Ratchets features a minimalist design that is cored out for an ultra lightweight feel. Highback: Stealth Highback is stiffer on the lower half for heel edge control but soft at the top for increased lateral (side-to-side) movement. Plates & Hardware: Forged Aluminium Micro Disc is 30% lighter than the standard & aids flex & performance due to the decreased size. Compatible with 2x 4 patterns & channel/slot systems. As well as the two-stage flex in the highback, I really like how the Infinity Chassis has precision size adjust, which means that you can slide the foot bed to get not only a really good fit, but also to help to centre your bindings on your board. Something I’m particularly fussy about. Another advantage of Ride bindings is the small footprint that you get from having a chassis made from Aluminium rather than plastic. This (combined with the micro-disc) means that your bindings don’t interfere so much with the natural flex of your board. Is it for me? The Rodeo is marketed as a freestyle binding but is suitable for ‘ All-mountain’ riders as well as the park rats amongst us. Ideal for intermediate to advanced snowboarders, the Rodeo would also make a great first binding for those looking
