With so many fancy & complicated ‘ Reverse-Triple-Camber-Banana-Rocker-Profiles’ available, & each one claiming to have found the ‘sweet spot’, a common complaint often heard from real snowboarders, is that they just want a normal snowboard.  Like the one they learned on. Like the one you learned on, & like the one I learned on. Features: The  Full Poplar Wood Core is responsive & reliable, irregularities & knots will not make it passed the Capita QC team so you can rest assured that the flex is uniform & consistent along the whole board. Traditional Camber works. By placing the length of the board between your inserts under continual pressure, the board is always preloaded & ready to react to your every input. HMC (High Molecular Composition) Extruded Bases are denser, stronger & more abrasive resistant than regular extruded bases. Carbon Rods reinforce the length of the board to improve stability & responsiveness while maintaining flexibility & torsional flexibility of the board, extending the lifespan of the core in the process.   I love ‘traditional camber’ boards (I own 3).  In fact I am not a fan of the term ‘ Traditional’ as I think that there is as much place for this shape profile now, as there has ever been. The Black Snowboard of Death has been completely redesigned for 2013/14 with the development of the new Mountain FK profile leading the charge. The main change here from last year (Freeride FK profile) is a zero camber section replacing the reverse camber section at the tail. The result is increased edge contact through the tail of the board & greater pop. A large number of boards that feature rocker or flat zones in their profile add carbon to increase the pop lost by not having a full camber shape. In the BSOD capita have put 4 x 30mm Pre-Cured Carbon Fibre Boosters which run from just behind the binding insets out to the widest part of the nose & tail. These are Pre-cured into an arched shape which adds twice the ollie power & response to regular carbon additives. A Full ABS Sidewall provides optimum edge hold & pop right through to the tip & tail of the board. Sintered bases absorb the highest amount of wax which provides extended periods of high speed riding. The Wax Infused Rotation Sintered Speed Base is used on the top end of the Capita range ensuring you go faster for longer. Rather than applying resin by hand in the manufacturing process, Capita use a mechanized dispensing system to ensure a consistent application & eliminate the chance of dry spots which can lead to de-lamination. In addition they apply fibreglass to the top & bottom of the core to reduce the risk of water damage. Custom Weave increases the performance of the resin & fibreglass which allows for a decrease in the thickness of the wood core. The result is reduced weight without the loss of performance.   I have to start off by saying that this is possibly THE most fun snowboard I have ever ridden. What I was most surprised about is how well this board catered for my jibbing, buttering, carving, side-hit, switch riding tomfoolery.
