Do you know your New Worlds from your Old Worlds? Do you have trouble knowing whether to serve white or red with dinner? Well, this is just the day for you! Whether you just like the occasional glass or you have developed a real passion for wine, you will all be guided through the wonderful world of wines a relaxed & informal manner by your enthusiastic & knowledgeable host. You will learn how to taste wine like the professionals do & about the intricacies of both red & white wines, such as how different climates, regions & grapes can affect the colour & flavour. After the day you can put your new found knowledge in practice to pick out some new wines from wine lists & aisles of your local supermarket. This is a real opportunity to appreciate wines in a comfortable setting & have some fun along the way! Programme The format of the day varies & depending on the theme you will go into certain areas in greater depth, but generally you will:
- be taught how to smell wines
- be taught how to taste & describe a wine
- be given at least 12 good quality wines to taste as part of a tutored tasting The majority of the locations will provide a tasty lunch, but we advise you to check when booking. Duration The experience lasts from 5 to 512; hours, depending on location. Group This tasting experience is for one person, but there will be other guests participating in the experience. Spectators No spectators are allowed for this experience. Fitness There are no fitness requirements for this experience. Experience There are no qualifications required to participate in this experience. Minimum Age The minimum age for wine tasting is 18 years old. You will have the opportunity to taste some of the finest English wines & a selection of superb cask & bottle conditioned ales & liqueurs at Chiltern Valley Winery & Brewery. It is guaranteed to be a memorable experience! Your experience will include a tour around the winery, brewery & liqueur production facilities, grape pressing, bottling & labelling plant. This will be followed by a tutored tasting of a selection of the wines, ales & liqueurs. The wine tasting will consist of at least three wines, one sparkling, & two whites. You will also sample ales. Any item can then be purchased in the cellar shop with a home delivery service available if required. You must be at least 18 years old to enjoy this experience.
