- Roald Dahl, Going Solo. Programme Your adventure begins with a pre-flight briefing to familiarise yourself with the controls of this historic aircraft. Seated behind your instructor, you taxi out to the runway & then take to the skies for a flight of pure nostalgia. During the flight youll have the chance to take the controls; cruising at a speed of around 80 knots (just over 80 miles per hour) youll have a fantastic view of the hedgerows, trees, people, their houses & cars. Please note, if you choose to fly from Duxford you will get free entry into the museum (worth £16) & guests get entry at half price. Duration Your flight will last around 30 minutes but youll be at the activity centre for around 1 hour. Group Its just you & the instructor. Spectators Youre welcome to bring family & friends along to watch you take to the sky. Fitness The maximum weight is 114kg (18 stone), the maximum height is 1.93m (6ft 4). You must be fit without no heart problems, agile as embarking & disembarking is difficult & requires flexibility. This may not be suitable for pregnant women. Experience No previous experience or qualifications are required to take part in this activity. Minimum Age To participate in this activity you must be at least 18 years old.
