It will also shred 1 credit card at a time & there is a separate slot for CD destruction. The AS1023CD is equipped with Shred Safe, an adjustable safety cover which can be used as an emergency stop, it will also stop the shredder should it detect forced entry of any kind. It can shred a single credit card at a time, & dont worry if you accidentally shred a paper clip or staple, this shredder will easily cope with both. In addition, there is a separate slot for shredding CDs or DVDs, this separate shredding mechanism cuts the CD into 4 pieces destroying the CD & keeping its contents secret. The separate shredding slot means that you dont have to put the CD through the slot intended for paper which means you can segregate the waste for recycling & should extend the life of your shredder. The large 18 litre waste bin will ensure that you dont have to empty it very often, & there is a large viewing window so you can see when it is full. The shredder has a pull-out waste bin for easy removal meaning you dont have to lift the shredder head off the base when emptying

There are a host of functions & safety features such Auto Mode which senses when the shredder should start & stop, Reverse function which is used for clearing any paper mis-feeds or overloads & the Thermal Overload which protects your shredder from overheating. The AS1023CD also has a status indicator that lights up should the Thermal Overload cut out be activated, & a further two status indicators, one for Overload when you have inserted too much paper, & one for Bin Alignment indicating the pull-out bin has not been closed properly. Should any of these safety features be activated the shredder will not operate until it has been resolved.
