The Allied Telesis' range of Fast Ethernet media converters allows users to extend the size of UTP networks with the use of fiber cabling. Converting between 100 Base-TX or 100 Base-FX Multi-mode & 100 Base-FX Single-mode " Long Haul" quickly & reliably, the AT-MC103LH & AT-MC104LH can be used to extend networks with up to 40km of fiber. The AT-MC103LH (with UTP connection) features an internal MDI/MDIX switch, allowing the converter to be connected to a PC, hub or switch with a simple UTP cable. Both media converters also allow the installer to test the integrity of fiber connection, by forcing the converters to communicate over the fiber cable. This Link Test feature allows installers to check for cable faults without the need for expensive fiber optic test equipment. Despite its compact size, the MMC2000 Series delivers all the power & functionality of standard size media converters. Extend Networks The MMC2000 Series mini media converters are the ideal solution for upgrading a traditional 100 Mbps Ethernet network or extending a Gigabit network. The MMC2000 Series is designed to extend the distance of a network by converting Gigabit data between twisted pair & fiber-optic cabling. Small & Flexible The smaller size & external power supply of the MMC2000 Series allows them to be used almost anywhere. Smart Missing Link (SML) The Smart Missing Link (SML) feature monitors network connections & provides notification when network segments fail, allowing network managers to quickly identify the source & location of failed segments & minimize downtime. Smart Link Restoration Smart Link restoration allows the devices, in cases of power failure, link loss or other interrupted service, to automatically restore the link without the need to restart/reset them.
