The veritas side rabate plane is used for cleaning up or trimming sidewalls of rabbets, dadoes or grooves to yield a perfect fit with its mate. it has a practical dual-blade configuration, coupled with an ingenious pivoting handle that permits right- or left-hand use to accommodate grain direction. The thin sole functions much like a skate, allowing use in slots as narrow as 3/16" & to a depth of 1/2". the toe is removable for use in stopped dadoes & has a fixing screw that is trapped to prevent loss. the depth stop helps orient & stabilize the plane during use & is both height adjustable & reversible (simply loosen the screw & rotate the stop without removing it from the body). Sculpted to fit the hand comfortably, the handle has a spring-loaded pivot for sure positioning – it won't move accidentally in use. the accurately machined, 4-1/2" long ductile cast iron plane body & the two o 1 tool steel blades (rc 58-60) are lapped. Pressure on the blade cap from a wave washer keeps the blades steady during set-up. weighs 1 lb. ...

To prevent digs, this jig means that you can grind a slight radius. can be used on just about any grinder. Drill a 1/4" hole in the tool rest to hold the base pin. radius of the grind is set by the amount projecting. grind one side, you flip the skew & repeat. skew is clamped in position, which leaves both hands free. pin is steel; otherwise, the jig is brass & anodized aluminum. Skews are among the trickiest tools to use in turning without causing digs. to prevent digs, this jig means that you can grind a slight radius rather than a straight 20° skew. ...

This is a cabinetmaker's square! it is used to lay out or transfer measurements quickly & accurately — you always have an ample reference face against your work without having to flop the square. This also simplifies working in two axes at once (e.g., measuring in 2" & over 1-1/2"), substantially reducing the chance of error when measuring & marking two

Dimensions simultaneously. The stainless-steel blade is 3" (77mm) wide & 6" (152mm) long, machine ground on all four edges. This imperial model is graduated to 4" along both edges & across one end to 3". The diamond cut-out in the blade holds a pencil tip in position & makes it easy to draw lines parallel to an edge. The locking mechanism has a notched pin like those on combination squares, with the blade bearing on polished, hardened steel reference pins set in the body. Accurate, & well made..

Used in a hand drill, it reams the hole, which you then plug with a dowel (or scrap of wood) sharpened in your pencil sharpener. The plug matches the hole perfectly every time. It works equally well preparing holes for decorative plugging. By adjusting the depth control on a drill press, you can ream to whatever size you want, letting you easily make holes for plugs of any size up to 3/8" diameter. Plugs are almost costless since they can be made quickly in a pencil sharpener from shop scraps. For restoring screw holes, instead of drilling a pilot hole in the center of a dowel, use one of the included 10 pre-drilled dowels (leadless pencils). Veritas Small Router Plane A Versatile Tool For Fine Work

A versatile tool for fine work, particularly on narrow material or in confined areas, this small router plane is invaluable for any task requiring small recesses, grooves or dadoes. The sole is designed to completely encircle the blade when in the closed-throat position for maximum registration to the workpiece, even when approaching from the side or working the edge. this also allows it to bridge recesses, providing great stability even on narrow stock. The blade may be positioned inboard for standard closed-throat use, or outboard, where the cutting edge of the blade extends beyond the body, for true bullnose work. the blade-clamping knob has been positioned behind the blade to allow visibility and chip clearance. pressure from a wave washer steadies the blade during height
adjustments. The comfortable ductile cast iron body is accurately machined and features a lapped sole. The plane is 3-1/4" wide and 2-1/4" deep, with a 1/4" wide high-carbon steel blade. weighs 7 oz.
