Product Description

This course provides students with the opportunity to learn to perform routine maintenance & troubleshooting techniques, monitor & tune servers, create & manage multiple databases, & perform other tasks encountered in day-to-day operations of Sun Directory Server Enterprise Edition 7.0 (Directory Server EE7).

Labs acquaint students with the tools included with Directory Server EE7. Students will use them to perform tasks such as searching & modifying directory data, exporting & importing data, starting & stopping servers, & troubleshooting. Students will also migrate server versions, create multiple databases, configure servers for replication, & tune performance.

This course focuses primarily on maintenance & operations issues related to DSEE 7 & not planning & design issues.

Students who can benefit from this course:

System engineers, support engineers, system administrators, & other technical support personnel with responsibility for day-to-day maintenance of Sun Java System Directory Server.

Learn to:
  • Migrate to Directory Server Enterprise Edition 7
  • Configure Failover & Load Balancing
  • Tune Directory Server for optimal performance
  • Set up 3-way multimaster replication
  • Configure Virtualization Using a Directory Proxy Server
