Owing to the e SATA-connection possibility transfer rates of 90 MB/s (read) & 50 MB/s (write) are achieved. This is an enormous enhancement as compared to the standard hard disks. The new design without the mechanical components provide for an enormous progress in the area of failure rate & noise development.
The SSDs are tough: even shocks, vibrations & extreme temperatures do not pose any danger.
