Graham Blyth, one of the founders of Soundcraft, developed a new pre-amp & EQ design to mark the company's 30th anniversary. The LX711 mixer is equipped with these new mic pre-amps, GB30. The design of the successful MH series was taken as a base & related components were transferred over to the LX711 mixer. This has meant the noise performance & clipping resistance could be enhanced to a level not previously possible in this price class. The same goes for the GB30 precision EQ- the MH series tone control was integrated into the LX711 using cheaper components. This has allowed targeted sound adjustment without undesirable secondary effects on neighbouring frequencies. The mid bands are semi-parametric (with variable frequency). In addition, the LX711 also has the tried & tested 7-bus structure (4 groups, separate mono & stereo total) with user-friendly LED displays & 6 aux send channels. In each case, the phantom voltage is separately switchable for 4 channels.
