You don't want to make a compromise where your safety is concerned. You can trust the Vd S approved (Vd S: German insurance industry association) domestic smoke detectors from Abus. These new wireless smoke detectors can communicate with each other without external radio modules or a central unit. The case is only 100 x 36 mm & contains the optical measuring chamber, electronics, 85 d BA siren, battery & the wireless transmitter & receiver. To ensure that the system is not affected by other wireless smoke detectors in the vicinity, the detectors communicate using a (selectable) coding system. If any of the detectors detects a fire, a loud alarm will sound. All the other smoke detectors with the same coding are also triggered. The range is up to 100 m in the open field. The detector which first detected the fire is easily identified as it uses a different alarm signal & flashing frequency. You can choose from 16 wireless codes. As an additional safety function, this wireless smoke detector calibrates itself every day. This avoids false alarms caused by dust, vapour, etc.
