16 Port Poe 48.3cm Ethernet Switch
With Power-over-Ethernet the devices can be placed flexibly inside and outside the building regardless of a socket. Through this technology power can be supplied to the IP-enabled devices via the network cable. In complex wireless LAN installations and in building surveillance with IP cameras the PoE-components drastically reduce the installation costs, since no power line need be laid to the place of installation.
The switch detects automatically, whether a PoE-device is connected and which voltage does it need. Hereby, the maximum possible PoE power of 15.4 watt is available at every port. If a device is connected, which does not have a PoE support, the switch detects this too and no voltage is applied, so that the device is protected against damage. The PoE-switch has a robust metallic casing and can also be installed 48.3 cm (19"), so that it finds place in every conventional server rack. The eight RJ45 network ports automatically detect the transfer rates of the connected devices (10 or 100Mbit/s). The full and half-duplex operation makes available maximum 200 MBit/s per port.

The management features include quality of service, VLAN segmentation (IEEE802.1Q VLAN tagging and port-based VLAN) and spanning tree, as well as extensive monitoring functions. The switch is thus optimally prepared for modern forms of communication like Voice over IP.
