With Power-over-Ethernet the devices can be placed flexibly inside & outside the building regardless of a socket. In complex wireless LAN installations & in building surveillance with IP cameras the Po E-components drastically reduce the installation costs, since no power line need be laid to the place of installation.
The switch detects automatically, whether a Po E-device is connected & which voltage does it need. Hereby, the maximum possible Po E power of 15.4 watt is available at every port. If a device is connected, which does not have a Po E support, the switch detects this too & no voltage is applied, so that the device is protected against damage. The Po E-switch has a robust metallic casing & can also be installed 48.3 cm (19"), so that it finds place in every conventional server rack. The eight RJ45 network ports automatically detect the transfer rates of the connected devices (10 or 100 Mbit/s). The full & half-duplex operation makes available maximum 200 MBit/s per port.
