Cymex Ultra Cymex Ultra Aciclovir 5% Cream is a five day cold sore treatment. Cymex Ultra contains Aciclovir which is used to treat viruses that cause cold sores of the lips & face. Cymex Ultra is for use on the skin only. It is not to be taken orally. Directions Wash your hands. Apply a thin film of Cymex Ultra to the infected skin, & the skin immediately next to it, using your fingertip. Take care not to rub the infected skin any more than you need to. You should apply Cymex Ultra to the infected area five times each day, at intervals of about 4 hours. Wash your hands again. Herpes simplex is infectious & you should try to avoid touching the infected skin with your hands or with towels, etc. to prevent spreading the infection.
