Cymex Ultra Cymex Ultra Aciclovir 5% Cream is a five day cold sore treatment. Cymex Ultra contains Aciclovir which is used to treat viruses that cause cold sores of the lips & face. Cymex Ultra is for use on the skin only. It is not to be taken orally. Directions Wash your hands. Apply a thin film of Cymex Ultra to the infected skin, & the skin immediately next to it, using your fingertip. Take care not to rub the infected skin any more than you need to. You should apply Cymex Ultra to the infected area five times each day, at intervals of about 4 hours. Wash your hands again. Herpes simplex is infectious & you should try to avoid touching the infected skin with your hands or with towels, etc. to prevent spreading the infection. You should continue to use your Cymex Ultra cream for 5 days. If infection has not healed after this time, treatment can be continued for up to 5 more days. If there is no sign of improvement after 10 days of treatment or gets worse at any time, tell your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. Warnings Do not use Cymex ultra if you: Are or have had an allergic reaction to Aciclovir or any other ingredients Are currently suffering from a weak immune system from chemotherapy or due to a deficiency Are pregnant or breast feeding If you are not sure that your symptoms are caused by a cold sore, then please consult your doctor or pharmacist before use. Cymex should be applied as soon as the infection is detected. As this medicine is a cream, it should not affect your ability to drive or operate machinery Potential side effects Brief sensation of burning, stinging, reddening, dryness or scaling
