Zacuto Z-DRV Follow Focus The Zacuto Z-Drive is a unique, universal direct drive follow focus, designed with single operator shoulder mounted rigs in mind. Because it has a universal joint & no internal gears it can’t develop play. It attaches to a single 15mm diameter rod & curves away from the operator at a 60 degree angle creating space & distance from the lens for comfortable use when the camera is on your shoulder. This is the perfect follow focus for a Recoil kit set up (where the camera is directly over your shoulder) as it brings focus control further forward as well as down for comfortable operation. The Z-Drive can operate in four modes & is extremely adjustable for all size lenses. It can operate on the camera assistant or operators side of the rig positioned forward toward the lens or backward towards the tripod/dolly etc.. This makes for easy operation with a standard follow focus whip used on a tripod. The Z-Drive slides onto a single 15mm diameter rod (on the left or right of your camera) & tightens in place next to your lens with a Zacuto quick-release ratcheting red lever. It comes with a fixed 1 ¾” diameter. 8 pitch gear to connect to your lens. If your lenses are not pitched to. 8 or are not pitched at all (most DSLR & basic video camera lenses are not) you can add our Zipgear Universal to your lens so the teeth match our gear correctly for smooth rotation. The Zip Gears can be cut to fit the circumference of your lens & tightened with an Allen key. These Zip Gear straps are pitched to. 8 & are 13.5” long. The Target Shooter is our lightest kit. It has three points of contact by having both hands on the camera & the gunstock in your chest. The entire kit is infinitely adjustable. You can add a fourth point of contact by adding one of our Z-Finders to the kit. The Gorilla Plate, included with the Target Shooter, attaches to the bottom of your camera using the standard tripod screw hole. The Gorilla plate has a 15mm hole in the bottom which means that you can attach the main rod for the Target Shooter. The rig can be freed from the Gorilla plate by flipping the red lever.  A tripod plate can be installed on the Gorilla plate for quickly moving from handheld to tripod by.  The Target Shooter can not accommodate a follow focus or matte box as it does not have a baseplate. The Z-Finder Jr. is one of Zacuto’s Optical Viewfinders that allows DSLR cameras to have the correct form factor for video. It offers 2.5x focusable magnification, a 40mm diameter Zacuto optical designed lens, an eyecup preventing extraneous light leakage, & a field of view perfectly matched to 3” LCD screens. The Z-Finder Jr. does not have a diopter instead it uses Z-Finder Extender Frames to adjust the focal point. The Z-Finder Jr's focal point is -2.75 & up (unlimited with extender frames). The Z-Finder Extender Frames attach to the skirt of the Z-Finder Jr. & allow you to semi-permanently stack the frames until the LCD screen is in focus for you. The Z-Finder Jr. uses a mounting bracket that must be sandwiched in between a tripod plate & the camera. Zacuto Universal Half Cage The Zacuto Half Cage creates a solid, adjustable, universal cage structure around the side & top of your camera rig. This will be the last cage you need to buy! It is adjustable to work with all cameras, sizes & shapes. It creates great stability, especially when shooting with DSLR’s, giving your camera a sturdy side grip & the ability to add a top grip. The Half Cage is rod mounted so it works independently of your actual baseplate allowing you to adjust its position. It can be positioned & locked via an Allen onto 15mm lightweight rods. The Half Cage features a special magnetic indentation along the side for storing the included Allen key. The side handle & most of the cheese plate holes are set to work on the right hand side of the camera but can be reversed if a left hand cage grip is desired for 2 handed operation. The Half Cage can mount just in front of your baseplate over the lens or behind your camera on rear rods depending on the balance point of your rig & where you want to add accessories. At its most compact height, the Half Cage has a clearance of 5.5”. Expand the cage via four Allen screws in the handle side & the maximum clearance grows to 9”.
