Octo 150
The Octo 150 is a unique large soft box, which offers several non-traditional soft box features that will be of particular interest to portrait photographers. Unlike the other large octagonal soft boxes, the Octo 150 features a perfectly round front diffuser for perfectly round catch lights, which are cleaner and more pleasing than its multi-sided counterparts. Another difference is how the light unit is mounted within the unit, which in the case of the Octo 150 is facing the rear cloth, or away from the subject. This offers two distinct advantages over traditional soft boxes. The first advantage is that the Octo 150 does not have the extra levels or layers of diffusion fabric between the light source and the front diffusion fabric, making it an unusually efficient soft box that can
be used with a relatively small flash. The other significant advantage of this design is the evenness of illumination on the front cloth. Interior silvered and white surfaces have been designed to ensure the optimum evenness on the front cloth. And because the front cloth is so even, it can be used close to the subject to produce maximum softness as well as maximum light output.
