The Leveling tripod is the ideal support for fluid heads. It introduces a new degree of integration between head & tripod: the Leveling tripod sets the camera perfectly horizontal while the fluid head allows pan & tilt movements. Recommended for lenses up to 300mm. Series 2 offers an excellent maximum load capacity & a very good torsional rigidity. Available in 3 & 4-section in standard & eye level heights. Gitzo have introduced a new Anti Leg Rotation system, which means the tripod can be opened in less than 15 seconds. Simply loosen all the twist locks on each leg at the same time, then pull the leg down & tighten the locks individually. The system consists of two pins, one fixed & one manually operated by means of a button, that prevent camera equipment from suddenly dropping out of the head when the quick release locking knob is released. Extremely useful with heavy equipment, long lenses & spotting scopes. By fine tuning the freedom of movement of the head, friction control makes the head slower & more precise or faster & looser.
