We apply a simple oil finish, which gives a very pleasant smooth matt sheen to the wood, & no lacquers or varnishes to flake off over time. The wood can be cleaned with a damp cloth, & recoated with oil should it be needed (recommended once or twice a year) to maintain the finish. Please note that the colour & figuring of wood varies quite a lot, & even similar pieces can develop differently during oiling. The images should therefore be used as a guide only: the finish you recieve may be a little lighter or darker. For delivery, we wrap each product in a combination of fabric, paper, bubblewrap & cardboard, according to what is needed to protect each item.
