The Dodo was a clumsy flightless bird who lived on the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Lewis Carroll reputedly used the Dodo displayed in the Natural History museum in Oxford for the character of the Dodo in Alice's Adventure in Wonderl&. The Dodo displayed there is on of the few rare surviving specimens anywhere in the world which is pretty amazing! I love visiting the museum & this little trinket is an idea I had whilst sketching that very Dodo a few weeks ago. It is one of my most favourite places to spend an afternoon. My collection of Alice in Wonderland jewellery is inspired by my frequent visits to Oxford which is the birth place of the Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass.
