RIB Powerboating on the Thames for Two Here is an excellent way for two people to see the Thames from a new perspective & take in some of the great sights of our capital city from the river. Jump aboard this small, light & high-speed powerboat, otherwise known as a RIB (which stands for rigid inflatable boat) & get ready for some fast fun. Scuba Diving with Sharks Diving with sharks is certainly nerve-wracking but is sure to be an amazing experience to remember for years to come. Start with some scuba training, which takes between one & two hours, including a full briefing on scuba equipment & techniques, followed by a practice session in a swimming pool. Then it’s time for a half hour dive in the aquarium for an experience of a lifetime. Shark species vary between venues, but you might be swimming with sand tiger sharks, lemon sharks, angel sharks or nurse sharks. There are also other big fish to look out for such as stingrays, conger eels, & shoals of smaller species. Play with the smaller fish & wave through the glass at visitors to the aquarium as the sharks swim around. Availability Selected dates once or twice a month (depending on venue). We recommend booking at least six weeks in advance. Participant Guidelines Minimum age is 16. You must be comfortable in water & in good health. If you suffer from claustrophobia, asthma, respiratory/heart problems, certain other medical conditions, or are pregnant, you can’t take part. If in doubt, seek medical advice. A Tour of Shakespeare&8217;s Globe & Afternoon Tea for Two This experience day is a wonderful opportunity for Shakespeare fans to visit The Globe. The world-famous theatre was built in Coliseum style between 1597 -1598 by carpenters Peter Smith & co. Sadly, a fire at the Globe Theatre broke out on June 29, 1613
- it was rebuilt the following year but subsequently demolished in 1644 by the Puritan Parliament who had issued an ordinance, suppressing all stage plays two years previously. The experience today takes visitors inside this piece of history, with a knowledgeable guide to talk about aspects of Shakespeare&8217;s life & works. The exhibition downstairs is also included so visitors can have a look before ending the day with afternoon tea in the brasserie.
