This exceptional deciduous Magnolia Red Lucky often flowers twice a year once in spring & then again in late summer. It produces beautiful white petals that are flushed on the outside with deep pink markings. A fantastic shrub that is ideal for the back of a large border or a woodland garden & requires little maintenance.

Type: Hardy Shrub
Flowering period: Apr-May

Height:
6m
Spread: 6m

Plant magnolias in a sunny or semi shaded position with protection from cold winds & hard spring frosts. Magnolias prefer a rich moist well drained acid to neutral soil. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve the soil prior to planting mixing it thoroughly & deeply. Magnolia plants establish quicker when their roots are shaded. Following planting apply a mulch of rotted bark chips manure or garden compost taking care not to mound it around the stem of the plant.

Water regularly throughout the growing season until young magnolias are fully established. In spring apply a mulch of well rotted bark chips or garden compost to the base of the plant. Magnolias require little pruning other than to maintain their shape & remove damaged stems or crossing stems.

The stems of summer fruiting raspberries will require support. Before planting prepare a framework of wires stretched horizontally between two sturdy 1.8m posts. Autumn fruiting varieties will not require supports. Plant raspberry canes in a row against the wire supports allowing a distance of 60cm between plants. Water well. Canes should be pruned to 15cm above ground level immediately after planting to encourage more shoots to be produced.

Water well for the first year until plants are fully established. Loosely tie the stems of summer fruiting raspberries in to their support wires as they grow. When berries begin to develop place a net over the plants to protect the crop from birds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the canes in spring. This will help to retain moisture throughout the summer.

Summer fruiting: In autumn prune the canes which have fruited over summer to ground level. Canes which have not fruited should be
