Succulent prolific & very hardy this variety of spinach is suitable for autumn & winter crops too. Sow in March to June outdoors or September to October indoors very thinly in ordinary garden soil in drills 3cm deep in rows 30cm apart.

As the seedlings grow gradually thin out to 23cm apart. The thinnings can be trimmed of their roots & cooked.

Water freely through the season & harvest by picking a few leaves snapping them off close to the ground.

    Agapanthus are easy to propagate by division. Divide between spring and early summer or in early autumn after plants have finished flowering. Avoid splitting plants too often as this will reduce flowering. Large clumps should only be split every four to six years.
