Veuve Clic was undoubtedly the first wine house to export Rose Champagne in 1775. Ever since then it has become one of the houses specialities with more than 200 years of unequalled knowledge. The 1985 vintage will be remembered for the quality of its harvest & the ruff times that the harvest experience through the winter. This cuvee consists of 17 crus, all Grands or Premiers Crus. To complete this base blend, the cellar master adds a blend of red wines sourced from selected black grapes to ensure the marvellous balance of this unique rose wine. The flavour of the Rose is dominated by the black grapes in the blend, 49% of the blend is made up of Pinot Noir, 14.5% is made up of Pinot Meunier & 36.5% is tempered by the elegance & finesse of Chardonnay. The Champagnes appearance is full of life, rich in colour & pink with orange tints. On the nose it is very complex & reminiscent of small red wild fruits. The aromatic structure is very subtle & built up around the Pinot Noir grape. On the palate it shows off its powerful structure, with a remarkable length & delicious fruit overtones. Please note: All bottles feature minor wear & tear due to their age.
