For the past twenty five years the people over at the Dow's vineyards & the Dow's wineries have been constantly improving the quality of all the houses Ports. The Fine Tawny is one of Dow's youngest wood-aged Ports, having been aged on average for 3 years in oak casks. The grapes used to make the port are from the Douro Valley, where only the finest grapes are hand picked to make Dow's Fine Tawny. During the ageing process the vines are tasted regularly & when they are considered to be ready, they are blended with all the care of their premium Ports, but only bottled if they can be consumed immediately. The result is a range of Ports with a fine balance & flavour worthy of the Dow's name. This Fine Tawny Port is velvety smooth with nutty, ripe dried fruits & toffee aromas. Pairs well with cheese & cake or cheesecake.
