Bollingers Rose is Madame Bollinger's ultimate gift, it is the result of rare conditions, a blend between a great champagne & one of the very best red wines from the champagne region, both being from the same vintage. The 2004 Rose vintage is created from a blend of 68% Pinot Noir grape & 32% Chardonnay, 89% of the grapes used are from Grands Crus & 11% are from Premiers Crus, there is also 6% of red Cote aux enfants wine added. Once the grapes are blended together they are aged in only oak barrels to develop the flavour through maturity. 2004 was a tricky year for grapes in Champagne. They experienced a very dry winter & spring but a cold, wet end to the summer. The Grapes were picked during a fine Indian summer which meant that they were is excellent health.
