Pathfinders is an innovative DIY kit that you can use to build working replicas of a catapult, one of the most infamous & powerful medieval siege engine weapons that once smashed down castle & fortress walls! The kit is based on historic designs.
The materials are just wood, rope & leather joined by wooden dowels, not screws or nails. No elastic, rubber, motor or batteries are used to create the movement of the devices’ swing arms.
All pieces are pre-cut & drilled, requiring only PVA adhesive to assemble. The instructions are detailed & complete with educational notes. The catapult can shoot a ball of soft modelling clay (included in kits) over 5m!
Build a catapult kit is suitable for children 10+, taking an hour or two to complete. Safety instructions are included, & children are recommended to use under adult supervision. While this scale model will only be smashing down imaginary castle walls, they are loads of fun to build & use.
