Floating gardens are good. Land is scarce in densely-populated Bangladesh, and people are regularly affected by flooding which devastates growing fields. Floating gardens provide a cheap and easy growing platform, using water hyacinths found in waterways all over South Asia.
The average carbon footprint of a family in the UK is 28 tonnes a year. For everyone in the world to have an equal share of global emissions at a level that the planet can cope with our carbon footprints should be just two tonnes per person. This Family Footprint will offset a family’s footprints down to that ‘fair’ level for a year. Whether you’re worried about climate change or the world running out of oil we all know we should be using less fuel and switching to greener energy. With this Feelgood Footprint you have ‘offset’ your emissions through our activities such as tree planting producing fuel-efficient cooking stoves sustainable agriculture methods and forest protection. These activities are all part of Concern Universal’s work helping communities to adapt to their changing environments. Our offsets are backed by carbon saved through our projects in Bangladesh Malawi Nigeria and the Gambia. As these are our usual community projects you can be assured that they will have genuine social and economic benefits as well being good for the environment.

Bees are good.Firstly, of course, they make honey &8211; delicious, nutritious and in high demand at the local market. But organised bee-keeping also means that farmers can grow more, by placing bee-hives near to farmed land so that the bees will help pollinate crops.
