The Tetra EX plus filters contain a complete system for biological, mechanical and chemical water purification. The water in the aquarium therefore remains clear and healthy, promoting the well-being of fish and plants: Tetra filter materials are specially developed for the Tetra EX and EX Plus external filter range. When combined appropriately, you can ensure aquarium water that's suitable for both fish and plants. Tetra FF Filter Floss The Tetra FF Filter Floss reliably removes very fine particles of waste and should be the last filter material to be used. It should be rinsed in warm water prior to use. The filter floss should be regularly replaced (every 4-8 weeks), to ensure optimal filtration. Size S is for the filters EX 600 Plus, EX 800 Plus, as well as EX 400, 600 and 700.
Size L is for EX 1200 Plus and EX 1200. Tetra CF Carbon Filter Medium: The Tetra CF Carbon Filter Medium reliably removes organic contaminants, reduces odours and water discolouration. The highly active material can be used in both fresh and saltwater. The carbon filter medium should be replaced every 2-4 weeks and washed in warm water prior to use. The carbon filter medium is suitable for all Tetra EX and EX Plus external filters, but may also be used in other external filters. Tetra BF Biological Filter Foam: The highly active biological filter foam provides a large surface area for the cultivation of helpful bacteria that remove harmful substances like ammonium and nitrite. It also provides mechanical filtration of medium-sized particles from the water. It should be washed in warm
water prior to use. The biological filter foam should be checked every 6 months and cleaned if necessary. It is recommendable to replace it every 12 months.
