Royal Canin Urinary S/O diet is formulated to specifically support the treatment of cystitis & urinary stones. Many cats suffer from recurring Feline LUTD (lower urinary tract disease), frequently with no apparent cause. Feline LUTD can also lead to urinary stones (struvite & calcium oxalate). If your cat has lower urinary tract disease you can help to support the treatment by feeding a diet that maintains the correct urine PH to dissolve struvite stones. By providing nutritional support for your cat’s urinary system you are also helping to reduce the risk of recurrence. Volume: Helps to reduce the risk of recurrence of calcium oxalate & struvite stones. Low RSS: Helps to produce urine with an unfavourable p H for stone formation. Also lowers the concentration of ions which contribute to crystal formation. Urine dilution: The high moisture content dilutes the urine & the minerals in the bladder. This helps to alleviates discomfort & reduces the risk of struvite & calcium oxalate stone formation. Changing your pet's diet & length of treatment: Your pet will need to stay on this diet for 5 to 12 weeks, or until the stones are dissolved. It is advisable to feed this diet for a further 6 months to prevent a recurrence. Further information: Please ensure that during its illness your pet is fed only with Urinary S/O, otherwise the effectiveness of this product may be reduced.
