At the Threshold of an Era stars Roger Kwok & Sunny Chan reignite their rivalry in the engaging new TVB drama Wax & Wane as cousins fighting over the family fortune. Their complex family-&-foe relationship begins with their fathers Yung Shing Fun (Lau Siu Ming) & Man Wing Cheong (Chow Chung). Cheong asserts that Funs Man Cheong Shing noodle corporation in Hong Kong is a subsidiary of the business founded by his late noodle-maker father in Mainl&, hence he claims ownership of Funs Man Cheong Shing trademark. This has caused the intense hostility the two families have had for each other over the years.
Things take a different course when Funs eldest son Yung Yee Chun (Roger Kwok), the arrogant CEO of the company, finds that Cheongs little noodle shop is the missing piece in his property development project. Chun reluctantly accepts the proposal to buy the shop using shares of his company, & more feuds arise as a result of Cheong & his son Man Ka Fung (Sunny Chan) being admitted into the company management. In fact, Chun still holds a grudge against Fung for marrying his ex-girlfriend (Florence Kwok). Further complicating matters, Chuns brother Yung Yee Hang (Ron Ng) is dating Fungs sister Man Ka Fu (Kate Tsui) against the objection of the family, & Fun declares his intention to marry his mistress (Claire Yiu) after the death of his wife...
Other members of the Wax & Wane family include Toby Leung, Derek Kok, Him Law, Oscar Leung, & Hui Siu Hung.
