Hong Kong actress Irene Wan takes on producer duties for the first time in her long career with the romantic melodrama Love in Late Autumn directed by Malaysian filmmaker Lim Kah Wai. Wan herself headlines as movie star Linda who especially takes leave from filming & flies to Shanghai in order to surprise her husband Ka Fai (Patrick Tam, Ip Man 3) on their tenth anniversary. However, Linda is shocked to discover that not only has Ka Fai forgotten about their anniversary, he might be carrying on an affair with his secretary (Charmaine Fong, Love is Elsewhere). In a fit of anger, Linda jumps on the nearest taxi & impulsively heads for Guilin, which she once visited with Ka Fai. On the long road trip, she begins to develop an affinity with taxi driver Han Lei (Zhao Bingrui, 72 Martyrs), an aspiring writer for whom Guilin also holds special meaning.
