Arguably Hong Kongs smartest & wittiest filmmaker Pang Ho Cheung ( Vulgaria, Aberdeen) produces Lazy Hazy Crazy, the directorial debut of his frequent screenwriter Jody Luk. This ribald comedy-drama is a playful, salacious & incredibly naughty coming-of-age story about three disaffected high school friends who find growth & change through sexual exploration. Uncommon to current Hong Kong film, the young actresses all turn in daring performances featuring frank language & nudity. Director Luk based the screenplay on interviews with actual Hong Kong girls though names have obviously been changed to protect the not-so-innocent. Alice (Fish Liew, Doomsday Party) uses We Chat to source paid dates, but her clients sometimes request deviant sexual behavior as part of her services. Meanwhile, Alice helps Chloe (Koyi Mak) set up her own dating profile but while the two become closer friends, Alice may be developing more than platonic feelings for Chloe. Watching both is the virgin Tracy (Ashina Kwok), who grows jealous of her friends growing bond. Wishing to become sexually active, she has Alice introduce her to club girl work, where she becomes the exclusive date of the charming & rich Raymond (Gregory Wong, Lan Kwai Fong). But despite her steps into the adult world, Tracys true love is a high school boy, Andrew (Tse Sit Chun).
