Written & produced by Kim Ki Duk, Red Family revolves around a group of undercover North Korean agents disguised as the most ordinary & loving of families while carrying out secret missions in South Korea. The clan of four formed by stone-cold leader/house wife Seung Hae (Kim Yoo Mi, The Windmill Palm Grove), husband Jae Hong (Jung Woo, Cest Si Bon), grandfather Myoung Sik (Son Byung Ho) & disgruntled teen Min Ji (Park So Young, Scarlet Innocence) may seem like your typical family, but theyre actually elite operatives tasked to take out defectors. Though dedicated to their roles & to protecting their families back home in the North, their values & resolve begin to waver as they adjust to South Korean society & develop a bond with their neighbors. Winner of the Audience Award at the 2013 Tokyo International Film Festival, Red Family marks the directorial debut of Lee Ju Hyoung.
