For the sake of freedom & justice, Deok Gi (Lee Byung Hun), Seol Rang (Jeon Do Yeon) & Poong Cheon (Bae Soo Bin) led a rebellion against the king & his foreign allies. However, Deok Gi betrayed his comrades, resulting in the death of Poong Cheon. Seol Rang escapes with Poong Cheons child & his sword, & warns Deok Gi that the child will become his biggest enemy.

Eighteen years later, Seol Rang is now blind & has changed her name to Wallso. Determined to take revenge on Deok Gi, now known as Yoo Baek, she teaches Seol Hee (Kim Go Eun) how to fight with the sword. After getting discovered by Yoo Baek in a sword sparring competition, Seol Hee successfully evades capture. However, on that same night, she learns how her father died & that Yoo Baek & Wallso are her destined enemies. She then leaves home & starts her long journey of revenge.
