The Handmaidens breakout actress Kim Tae Ri stars in the live-action film adaptation of Igarashi Daisukes popular manga Little Forest about the rural life & cooking of a young woman. Nominated for the 10th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, Little Forest was previously adapted into a four-part Japanese live-action film starring Hashimoto Ai in 2014 & 2015. Directed by Yim Soon Rye ( Forever the Moment), the Korean version of Little Forest transplants the setting to the beautiful Korean countryside over four seasons of cooking & farming. The soothing foodie drama also co-stars Moon So Ri ( The Handmaiden) as the heroines mother & Ryu Jun Yeol ( The Taxi Driver) & rookie actress Jin Ki Joo as her childhood friends.
Burned out by life in Seoul, Hye Won (Kim Tae Ri) returns to her rural hometown to clear her mind. Surrounded by nature & not much else, she grows her own food & creates various delicious dishes with seasonal ingredients. Supported by her friend Jae Ha (Ryu Jun Yeol) & Eun Sook (Jin Ki Joo), she gradually heals her troubled heart & the unresolved pain of her mothers abandonment.
